Joanne's art is influenced by personal journeys, experiences, and observations of the world around her. Joanne’s thirst for knowledge, enjoyment of music, and love of photography are expressed in the whispered stories that are her artwork. Joanne loves to create, and prefers to speak stories in her art.
Joanne is a member of the North East Saskatchewan collective Accidental Artists and is a founding member of the print collective Studio 4417. She has taken art classes through the University of Saskatchewan since 2003 and has attended the Emma Lake Kenderdine Campus annually since 2005. In 2012 she helped form Keep Kenderine to protest the closure of Kenderdine Campus and work toward its reopening.
Joanne lives on a farm near Melfort, SK with her family and helps with the day to day farming. Having her studio situated on her farm allows her the freedom to create all year long.
